A Wellbeing Day being held by the Fresh Fitness studio in Brightlingsea on Saturday February 6 will be an action-packed launch for WinterFest, with a whole range of free classes for all ages, accessible through Zoom.
The event is being organised by Lucy Reid who runs Fresh Fitness and she has put together an exciting programme to suit all ages.
Broadway Boogie, yoga for kids and adults, body conditioning, Pilates, zumba and talks on emotional self care and understanding anxiety are among the sessions on offer during the day.
Lucy said: “I'm very excited that yet again we are hosting the Wellbeing Day for Brightlingsea WinterFest. It's a little different this year, but we have a great selection of classes with awesome instructors, all for people to enjoy from comfort of their own own homes.
“All classes are free, we really want people to just be able to get involved this year as we know it's been a struggle for so many. But if people would like to make a donation to the WinterFest Wellbeing Fund that would be greatly appreciated.”
Among the instructors on the Wellbeing Day will be Hannah Wetz, a Hatha and Vinyasa Flow yoga teacher based in Brightlingsea. Hannah said : “My aim is to teach a style of yoga that encourages you to feel free, confident and in control of your body and your mind, as well as connected to others and the wider world.”
She will be holding a yoga session for kids and a session for adults at the Fresh Fitness Wellbeing Day and, as part of WinterFest, is also offering a New Moon yoga session on Thursday February 11 and a Full Moon yoga class on Friday February 26.
In a joint message WinterFest founders Alix Sheppard and Dave Griffiths said: We are delighted that WinterFest is happening this year and the Wellbeing Day will be a brilliant way to launch the festival.
“WinterFest has always aimed to banish winter blues, but this year it will be bringing some desperately needed light in the face of the ongoing difficulties caused by Coronavirus pandemic.”
