Am & Pm: 10.30-12.30pm & 1.30-3.30pm
If you like drawing you will love ‘Drypoint’!
Using just a couple of simple tools you can etch and scratch a drawing or design into clear acrylic printing plates and then make high quality copies on our table-top etching press. We will also show you how to add extra impact and texture by sticking coloured tissue or pre-printed papers onto your design before putting your prints through the etching press. This technique is sometimes called ‘Chine collé’ and has been practiced by printmakers worldwide for centuries!
Bring your own printed photo-images or sketches. Our acrylic etching plates are A5 (145 x 210mm) so images or sketches around this size would be a good starting point. Or choose from some of the prepared materials we will provide on the themes of ‘Bloom Flourish and Nourish’.
Come along to the morning or afternoon tasters. Cost is just £5 per session with everything provided including tools, plates, inks, tissue and paper… even printers’ aprons!
Beginners very welcome. Sessions are suitable for all adults and 16+ teens, also accompanied children over the age of 10.
