Brightlingsea will be going pancake crazy on Shrove Tuesday with events at two top venues in the town to raise funds for WinterFest.
Vines Bistro in Brightlingsea High Street and the Railway Tavern, in Station Road, which has just been named as CAMRA pub of the year for Tendring, will both be hosting events on Pancake Day, Tuesday, February 25, to help raise funds for WinterFest causes.
The event at Vines will be taking place from 5pm onwards. Customers will be able to cook their own pancakes in the venue's lovely surroundings and can choose any toppings from the bistro's large selection. The cost will be £5 a head, £1 of each will go to WinterFest.
The Railway Tavern is also promising a fun evening and the pancake action will start straight after the pub's weekly quiz. Pancakes will be made at the bar and lemon and sugar will be provided.
The cost will be £1 each and all proceeds will go to WinterFest.
Proceeds from WinterFest this year will help boost the Wellbeing Fund, which was launched last year by WinterFest to give grants to local people in Brightlingsea towards activities or equipment which will improve their mental, physical and social wellbeing.
WinterFest would also like to hear from anyone who can offer their support by holding a pancake party at home or at work.
